Wasp nests in Melbourne: what to do before anyone gets stung

European wasps are most active in late summer and autumn, but nest activity can continue when conditions suit. The entry point may be in a wall cavity, roof void, retaining wall, compost area or soil bank.

Do not block the hole. Wasps can chew through plasterboard or redirect into the house. Do not stand at the entry with a retail aerosol during the day, either. That is how people get stung.
